The NSW Domestic and Family Violence website, for people experiencing domestic violence. Domestic and family violence takes many forms. It involves violent, abusive or intimidating behaviour carried out by a partner, carer or family member to control, dominate or instil fear. It doesn’t have to be physical abuse. It can be emotional, psychological, financial, sexual or other types of abuse.

The Domestic Violence Interagency Guidelines are one tool in the many strategies for reducing domestic violence and enhancing the coordination between agencies and services. The Guidelines have been written for workers in the field working in or dealing with the legal system and/or working with women dealing with the legal system.

Women’s Services Network (WESNET)

Established in 1992, the Women’s Services Network (WESNET) is a national women’s peak advocacy body which works on behalf of women and children who are or have experienced domestic and family violence.

No To Violence
No To Violence (NTV), the Male Family Violence Prevention Association Inc., is a peak organisation of individuals and agencies working for the prevention of male family violence. Information for men and others who wish to stop being violent. The specific focus is to work with men to assist them to change and end their violent behaviour.

A Call to Men
A Call to Men is a leading national men’s organization addressing domestic and sexual violence prevention and the promotion of healthy manhood. They are committed to maintaining strong partnerships with women’s organizations already doing this important work and help to organize communities in order to raise awareness and get men involved in this effort.

Family Relationships Online
Family Relationships Online is a key component in Government support for building better family relationships. It provides all families (whether together or separated) with information and advice about family relationship issues, Government funded services that can assist them to build better relationships, and information on the Government’s reforms to the family law system to help families focus on the needs of their children.

Woman’s Family Law Support Service – NSW Women’s Refuge Resource Centre

The Women’s Family Law Support Service (WFLSS) commenced operation at the Sydney Family Law Registry in 2007. The WFLSS is a joint project of the NSW Women’s Refuge Movement (WRM) and the Sydney Family Law Registry.

The National Council of Single Mothers
The National Council of Single Mothers and their Children is a national voice for, and with single mothers and their children.  NCSMC advocates for equity of opportunity, financial security, safety and access to legal and human rights for single mothers and their children.
 
Women Everywhere Advocating Violence Elimination (W.E.A.V.E.)
WEAVE is a National Women’s Alliance that aims to eliminate all forms of male violence (including sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, sexual exploitation and trafficking). Their vision is to ensure that all women and children are able to live free from all forms of violence and abuse.

Suddenly Separated
A site developed by Julie Singleton, a solicitor who went through her own separation.  She found that there was no one-stop source of information and support for people in a separation crisis and was inspired to create the site.

Department of Immigration and Citizenship
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship is the Federal Government Department responsible for immigration and determining applications for permanent residence in Australia. The site has information about Domestic Violence Provisions for individuals on a spouse visa who have experienced domestic violence.

The Immigration Advice and Rights Centre is a community legal centre that provides free legal advice and assistance in relation to immigration matters.
