Victims Services NSW

Victims Services is part of the NSW Attorney General’s Department and provides support and referral services for Victims of Crime.  The Victims Services website has applications for the Victims Assistance Scheme and compensation and the Approved Counseling Scheme.

Motor Accidents Authority

The Motor Accidents Authority supervises the NSW Motor Accidents Scheme that provides third party personal injury insurance (through licensed insurers) for motor vehicles registered in NSW.

Centrelink
Centrelink may provide Crisis Payments for eligible applicants who have experienced domestic violence.

Centrelink – Accommodation, renting and homeless issues
Centrelink Community Engagement Officers provide a range of services to homeless people and people at risk of becoming homeless of all ages.

Housing NSW – Help with Housing
Housing assistance in NSW is provided under Housing Pathways. This means that assistance is delivered by Housing NSW and participating community housing providers (together referred to as social housing providers).

ACON – Building our Communities Health and Wellbeing

ACON is NSW’s and Australia’s largest community-based gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) health and HIV/AIDS organisation.  Their mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of the GLBT community and people with HIV, and reduce HIV transmission.

The National Welfare Rights Network
The National Welfare Rights Network (NWRN) provides free and independent information, advice and representation about Social Security law and its administration. NWRN member organisations operate in all states and territories of Australia and consist of specialist community legal centres and services and individual advocates. They are independent of Centrelink and all government departments.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP)
Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a national debt counselling charity working through a network of centres based in local churches. CAP offers hope and a solution to anyone in debt through its unique, in-depth service. CAP aims to show God’s love in action by providing sustainable poverty relief through free debt counselling, advice and practical help.
